Creosote

Creosote (Larrea tridentata) is often referred to as a chaparral.  It is the plant most attributed to the smell of the desert after a monsoon rain.  The smell alone can conjure great nostalgia for anyone who has been lucky enough to spend any time in the desert southwest.  This plant has multitude of traditional medicinal uses as well.
